Developed/Implemented/Retrofitted Internet component for an
existing email product which ran on a secure and portable USB device.
Collaborated with various teams at large San Francisco based financial institution
and successfully delivered automated customer financial statement
processing system. One of my completed tasks was designing a custom disk drive data storage layout to meet
our SEC performance requirements (this
type of task has been largely superseded by, for example,
IBM's Enterprise Storage Server technology). I also wrote new, and rewrote
old, production code and Korn scripts which did data processing. I also
assisted in database design and access strategies and wrote some of the code for same.
Designed/Implemented software for industrial machines sold in China, Sweden, and
North America (from custom board drivers to algorithms and GUI)
Designed/Implemented sysadmin tools for global facsimile network and computer management;
tools were used by domestic and international customers (who demanded
the company make them part of the standard system package)
Automated a system install procedure for Starbucks which reduced 31
pages of instructions to two questions at computer during install

redundant firewall connection to Internet via T1 from Electric LightWave (absorbed by Integra Telecom).

dual firewall connection over busines DSL using a SnapGear SME550 and a Qwest-supplied ActionTec DSL interface device.

services, and protected by a distributed intrusion detection/prevention
system (written in Erlang).
